As a fully qualified and BAMBA registered practitioner, I believe mindfulness is essential for maintaining our mental well-being. My Story

, where do I even start? Ever since I was a teenager, I felt pretty out of place and had my share of mental health ups and downs. I’ve struggled with anxiety, depression, paranoia, and obsessive-compulsive behavior, which made growing up really tough. This led me into some unhealthy habits and situations. It wasn until I turned 30 that I finally had the guts to ask for help. For the next three years, I struggled at work, relied on prescription medication, and self-medicated with drugs and alcohol, which really took a toll, especially after my suicide attempt in 2015. I kept heading down a rough path until 2021 when I got diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Then, in 2022, I hit another rough patch with severe depression, psychosis, and suicidal thoughts, which landed me in an NHS mental hospital. This led to me being unemployed for the first time since I had left school at 16. Thankfully, in 2023, I checked into the Priory Hospital in Roehampton and found out I had Borderline Personality Disorder, and was also recommended that I be assessed for ADHD and ASD. Over the next year, I went through both inpatient and outpatient therapy, diving into DBT, mindfulness, and other helpful therapies. At 42, I got diagnosed with ASD. This whole journey has really opened my eyes to the importance of mental well-being and helped me find better ways to cope. Now, I’m all about giving back and helping others with their mental health!
